Mitchell Newman Lawyers in Christchurch, was established with a strong desire to provide clients with quality legal advice that is accessible, affordable and totally client focused.

We provide each client with as much certainty as possible around issues they need advice on, this also includes certainty around fees and timeframes to complete their instructions.

Beatrix is a well-regarded property law specialist with broad experience across a range of property transactions. She provides strategic advice on all aspects of property law work including the sale and purchase of residential and commercial real estate, commercial leasing (acting for both landlords and tenants), build-to-lease contracts, property financing, construction contracts and Construction Contracts Act obligations.

With a reputation for bringing clarity across processes and ensuring that transactions run smoothly, Beatrix is recognised as the go-to lawyer for first home buyers. 

Beatrix also frequently advises on residential builds and presents on land and build transactions at home building seminars.

Additionally, Beatrix has experience and interest in commercial contracts. Her work in this area includes drafting, interpreting and advising on commercial contractual arrangement issues, and assisting businesses across various industries with developing their terms and conditions of business.

Chris is passionate about the client experience when it comes to legal advice. He takes the view that pragmatic legal advice cannot be provided in a vacuum, and therefore understanding each client, their priorities, and their interests, are key to providing accurate advice that meets the client’s needs.

Chris advises various entities and private clients on a wide variety of commercial matters, specialising in employment law, sale and purchase of businesses, and other company related matters faced by small to medium sized enterprises. 

He has represented clients in various dispute resolution forums, including mediation, and has previously litigated various matters in the civil and criminal jurisdictions, including for various government departments.
